Week 3: Group

Today, the team met with Dr. John N. Carbone, an expert in artificial intelligence, data science, and secure autonomous systems, to discuss the development of the Astraeus prototype rover. His extensive experience in the defense industry provided valuable insights into enhancing the rover’s functionality and addressing key challenges for planetary Rovers. He encouraged the team to refine the specific functionality of Astraeus beyond broad autonomous tasks. Overall, Dr. Carbone affirmed that the team is on the right track but needs to conduct further research to define Astraeus' specific mission more clearly. Moving forward, we will focus on narrowing the project’s objectives to ensure Astraeus serves a valuable role in planetary exploration.
